Jasper is Georgia’s first mountain city located an hour North of Atlanta and Ellijay is “just up the road.” Downtown Jasper has its Marble Festival in the fall about the same time Ellijay has its Apple Festival. Both towns have an old quaint feel with shopping, antiques, and restaurants. If you want acreage in the mountains, you’ll find it here. Some parcels have beautiful custom homes already built. Local activities include golf, riding, hiking, site-seeing, and antiquing. The Tate Mansion is available for special events. Several gated communities are located here including Sharp Mountain Preserve, Bent Tree, and Big Canoe.
